Pete is Five Speed Box's lead melodeon player and capel meister. He has also been known to suddenly swap to uke, when the devil is in him.
As a highly experienced dancer and player he knows what tune goes with what dance and what tempo suites the dancers on the day, often utilising his own compositions.
Christine's wonderful piano accompaniment perfectly fills our musical sails. But she is also a fine concertina player and composer.
Christine often leads the tunes rather than backing them. She is an integral and irreplaceable part of the Five Speed Box's sound.
Five Speed Box would not be Five Speed Box without Wendy's lyrical and expressive clarinet playing. Wendy effortlessly adds the swing and colour to the music and often takes us to another place entirely.
Definitely much more than a tune player, Wendy has also penned many a fine tune too.
It is undeniable that people dance to beat and rythm and Paul is a master of the art. A highly experienced and talented drummer in multiple genres he is the beating heart of the band.
Paul gives the band what it needs and not what he can do. A mark of the musician he is.
Andy has been a fiddle player long enough to know better. He has been in numerous bands over the years but is the new boy in FSB.
Besides his main roll playing fiddle he sometimes fills in on guitar when needs must. But he's a fiddle player to the core.
Ted, along with Pete, Christine and Wendy, is a founder member of Five Speed Box. As the bands original drummer he provided the backbeat for many years.
But there's more to Ted than drums. Though no longer active his original tunes, as do Pete's, Christine's and Wendy's, make up a significant part of the bands extensive repertoire.
